Yes, Revit 2014 does support the CustomColor settings. Revit supports more settings than we have documented here...we plan to add more to the list over time as resources permit. -- Patty Gale, Autodesk Revit User Assistance Team

pattygale on Cutting Rectangular Openings in Walls

Regardless of whether you add a dimension to the opening, the only way to edit the size of the opening is using shape handles, or by using listening dimensions. If you lock the dimension, you cannot change the shape of the opening in that direction. -- Patty Gale, Autodesk Revit User Assistance Team

@cprice: thanks for sharing your experiences with us. It may be that the latest Archvision plug-in works more intelligently and so does not require these manual steps. They may be required only when you have a special setup. I'm checking into this with Revit Development and will let you know what I learn. -- Patty Gale, Revit User Assistance Team

Tony, thanks for your suggestions. I have reorganized the pages as you suggested, and attached the PDF to the new topic "Keynote Text File." Something didn't work quite right when you attached that file to this topic, so I was able to save and reattach the PDF to that topic, and I have deleted the draft version of this topic. If you'd like to add or modify information on these pages, please feel free to do so. I'm sure that other users can benefit from your experience. Mike: For Revit 2013, we have added information about Creating Loadable Families. Look at Choosing a Family Template; is that the information you're looking for? Most of the information will be the same for 2012 as for 2013. -- Patty Gale, Autodesk Revit User Assistance Team

That's correct. The View Direction type parameter is only available for structural plan views. It is not available for floor plan views or reflected ceiling plan views. -- Patty Gale, Autodesk Revit User Assistance Team

Hmmm...I haven't heard of any way to control the browser for those functions, but let me ask the developers, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

You are correct: the ramp arrow was never properly implemented in the software, so it doesn't show in drawings. One of several loose strings left hanging. :-( -- Patty Gale, Autodesk Revit User Assistance Team
pattygale on How Linking to AutoCAD Files Works
Dec 7, 2012 4:42 PM
You can use the Manage Links dialog to identify which CAD files have been linked into a Revit project. However, Revit does not provide a way to identify the views in which each linked file appears. Have you checked the user forums to see if anyone has solved this problem? There are some clever people out there! -- Patty Gale, Autodesk Revit User Assistance Team
