You can modify many line properties for a conceptual design massing family. Lines have instance properties because they are not yet part of a family. Select a line and modify properties on the Properties palette.

| Length | The actual line length. |

| Subcategory | Sets the line subcategory to Form [projection] or Void. |
| Is Reference Line | Changes the unconstrained reference line to a reference line. Displays the Associate Family Parameter dialog that lists existing parameters and adds new parameters. |

| Reference | Sets the reference type to Not a Reference, Weak Reference, or Strong Reference. |
| Model or Symbolic | The actual type of line. |
