The Realistic style displays material appearances in editable views. As you rotate the model, the surfaces display as they may appear in various lighting conditions. Select Ambient Shadows from the Graphics Display Options dialog to simulate a soft, diffused light. See Changing the Appearance Properties of a Material.
If you are using Revit in the Autodesk Building Design Suite, you can also create a realistic view of the model using Showcase. See Revit Workflows in the Autodesk Building Design Suite.
