What happens to the UserDataCache and user profile file structure when Revit runs for the first time?

    The first time Revit runs on your computer, the user profile folder is created, and then the UserDataCache files are copied into it.

    USERPROFILE location:

    • Windows XP:

      "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Autodesk\Revit\<product name and release>"

    • Windows 7:

      "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Autodesk\Revit\<product name and release>"

    NoteBy default, the Application Data and AppData profile folders are hidden.

    UserDataCache files:

    • MaterialUIConfig.xml
    • OmniClassTaxonomy.txt
    • Revit.ini
    • shxfontmap.txt
    • UniformatClassifications.txt
